Handling the death of a loved one, the world's MOST SUPER CHEERFUL TOPIC EVER

My loves, a couple of people asked me to put together a guide for the practical stuff you need to do when someone you love is dying. There's no way to make this a cheerful topic, unfortunately (I TRIED adding jokes, I TRIED... but it didn't work).

It also came out as a looooooong post, because it turns out that there's a whole admin mountain around death. So instead of clogging up your inbox with it, I'm just going to send you the link, and you can read it if you're up for it.

Here it is: https://www.likeafuckinggrownup.com/what-to-do-when-a-loved-one-is-dying/

The piece covers:

  1. What to do when someone you love is very ill and might die.
  2. What to do once someone has died.
  3. Some notes on grief.
  4. What you can do now, while you're healthy, to make your own death easier on the people you love.

I really hope that this isn't a relevant topic to most of you right now, and if it's not, please just skip on over to the end where I'm going to talk about a couple of things you can do now, while you're healthy, to make life easier for the people who will have to deal with your death someday.

And if this is relevant to you right now, I'm so, so sorry. I hope this is helpful in some tiny way. I am beaming love at you.

Wishing you a complete lack of admin,

Your friend Sam
